This workshop aims to offer interdisciplinary networking and a discussion forum for German and Chinese alumni/ae researchers, planners, practitioners and experts. We invite you to share your latest ideas, discuss products and processes and to debate issues and challenges related to structural changes, for example of the Ruhr Area.

The workshop is organized by the China Center of the Technical University of Berlin (TUB) in cooperation with the Ruhr-University Bochum (RUB). The event is part of the URBANI[XX] project – the Sino-German Alumni Network for Urbanization and Urban Development, established in 2017. The intention of URBANI[XX] is to promote the network of science, business, and politics within the fields of urbanization and urban development.

The workshop program will consist of a mix of keynote presentations, site visits and panel discussions, including:
